**Cercle Brugge has appointed Bernd Storck (62) as head coach. The German coach needs to keep Cercle in 1A and signed a contract for this purpose until the end of this season. In case of a positive evaluation, the contract will be extended by one year. Matyas Czuczi (34) joins the technical staff as assistant coach.**

Cercle faces two crucial matches to ensure retention in first division. Opponent in those will be Patro Eisden Maasmechelen, winner of the Promotion Play-Offs in the Challenger Pro League.

With Bernd Storck, no stranger takes the helm at Cercle Brugge. Indeed, during the 2019-2020 season, the German was already on the sidelines at Groen-Zwart.

Storck's appointment also means that Jimmy De Wulf's assignment as head coach comes to an end. The Association is keen to keep Jimmy, a Cercle man pur sang, on board, but is giving him time to reflect on this.

**CEO Klaas Reynaert:** *"For the important games against Patro Eisden Maasmechelen, we are counting on Bernd Storck's experience to keep us in 1A. It was not an easy decision to communicate this to Jimmy, but we are convinced that this decision is the right one. We hope Jimmy will stay, but give him the necessary reflection time."*
