**After conceding late in Kortrijk on matchday 1, Cercle turned the tables at home against Beerschot with a 95th-minute winner. "We’ve had many setbacks this season, so this win feels extra good," said head coach Jimmy De Wulf in his post-match press conference.**

"We started the match well and scored early," he reflected. "But then we failed to reward ourselves with a second goal."

"We have to be honest: after that, we lost pressure on the ball and sat too deep, allowing Beerschot to find space between our lines."

"That said, we had an expected goals (xG) of over 3. We should’ve killed the game off much earlier," he added.

"At Cercle, we live by the motto 'We never give up', and today we stayed true to that. It's great to finally get the result we deserved."

### Lucas Perrin: "A very important win"

Match-winner Lucas Perrin also expressed his relief after the last-gasp victory. "I’m really happy with this win," the Frenchman said. "It was a tough game. We missed too many chances, but this win is crucial—especially with Kortrijk still right behind us."

"Yes, these are the play-downs, but to be honest, I don’t think we deserved to be in this position. In the regular season, we often deserved more."

"This is now a completely different competition. You have to go to war in every match. You have to fight every duel."

"Up next, we play Sint-Truiden twice. It won’t be easy, but we believe in our strengths and we’re ready."

### Thibo Somers: "We showed our strength as a team"

Captain Thibo Somers, who scored for the second week in a row, praised his team’s resilience. "We should’ve killed the game much earlier. We had two or three clear chances, but didn’t finish them."

"Then we conceded late, but I’m proud of how we responded as a team. It’s great to put pressure on Sint-Truiden and Kortrijk with this win."

Was he surprised by Beerschot’s fighting spirit? "Not really—we talked about it beforehand. They can play with less pressure now, and some of their players are probably playing for a transfer. That’s why it’s a strong result for us."

"In the two games against Sint-Truiden, we should aim for at least 4 out of 6 points," he concluded.
